WiCS x Meta Puzzle Hunt Kick-Off Event
Join WiCS and Meta for an exciting Puzzle Hunt on March 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM! The kick-off to the Puzzle Hunt (with instructions!) will take place in DC 1302 and you will get the chance to network with women Meta engineers and enjoy some Bubble Tea! Results of the puzzle hunt will be announced on March 8th in DC 1302 at 12:00 PM!

WiCS x BAM March Campus Event
Join us for an on campus WiCS x BAM event on March 21, 2024 from 4:30 - 6:00 PM in DC 1302 for an engaging session where you'll hear from esteemed speakers in our Artificial Intelligence and Data Science space! You will have the exclusive opportunity to delve into the advancements, challenges, and potential applications of AI in the finance industry. Our speakers will share insights into cutting-edge AI technologies, the impact of AI on investment strategies, and the role of AI-driven data analysis in driving informed decision-making. WiCS Study Room
The WiCS Study Room (DC 3150) is a place where WiCS students know they can meet and study with other WiCS students, making it easier for them to find like-minded peers and role models. As a secondary benefit, the room also serves as a space where WiCS students can take a short break from being in the minority.
To get the fob to the study room, you must fill out a request form for the access fob. The WiCS Event

Gender and Social Justice Pizza Mixer
The Gender and Social Justice program is hosting a Pizza Mixer for students from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM in HH 2034 on March 5, 2024! Gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options for pizza will be available for students!

UR2PhD Workshops
The UR2PhD program intends to increase the number of quality undergraduate research opportunities, closing the gap between a first research experience and a successful PhD application.
The UR2PhD leadership team invites ALL undergraduates interested in computing research to register for and attend our bridge workshops.
From February through May, there will be a monthly 1-hour virtual workshop as part of the Computing Research Engagement and Awareness Workshop Series. During each workshop, students will engage with other computing researchers, expand their knowledge of the field, and participate in community building activities. Each workshop will have its own format and structure, but will culminate in addressing current research challenges and disciplines, available career paths and preparation, and opportunities for making meaningful contributions as a researcher. All workshop sessions are designed in such a manner that students of varying levels will be able to learn more about research and research careers/pathways.
In the Fall, UR2PhD will launch the Admissions Preparations Workshop Series to help students learn more about PhD admissions and the required application materials.

Day of Shecurity Conference

FS-ISAC Women In Cyber Scholarship
Are you passionate and curious about cyber security? The FS-ISAC Scholarship is for women+ (including transgender, gender non-binary, and gender fluid) interested in pursuing a career the field of cyber security. The scholarship award for the 2024-2025 academic year is $10, 000 USD and includes the opportunity to learn directly from experts in the field and attend the FS-ISAC Sumit/Event. If you are interested in applying, please visit the FS-ISAC WEBSITE, applications are due March 17th, 2024. The scholarship is open to students attending a Canadian University and who are eligible to work in Canada.
