Tech Crawl
Come check out local tech companies’ headquarters with us at this year’s annual Tech Crawl! Visit Google’s iconic Kitchener building for a tour and panel discussion. Followed by a visit to OpenText’s new Global Command Centre and a short keynote from their Chief Digital Officer & Chief Information Officer.

Interested in helping incoming students get a feel for what Waterloo is like? Want to share guidance and/or just hang out with incoming women and gender-diverse students in WiCS-related programs, while drinking bubble tea and making bracelets? Stitch & Social: A Cross-Stitch + Embroidery Workshop with WiCS
Join us for a cozy and creative evening of stitching, chatting, and community! Led by special guest Samantha Jewett (WiCS Outreach Coordinator), you’ll learn essential techniques, tips, and tricks to create your own embroidery or cross-stitched piece of art. Choose from a selection of beginner-friendly, fun feminist/queer/punny tech patterns or bring your own to work on!

UR2PhD – Early Research Experience Program (APPLICATIONS CLOSE SUNDAY, JULY 12th!)
Are you an undergrad interested in research, but don’t quite know where to start? If so, our UR2PhD program may be for you! This is a program where we aim to ease undergraduate students with little to no prior research experience into their first research experience, preparing them to seek out further opportunities (i.e., URAs), afterwards!
In this program, undergraduate students will work in teams of 2-4 and be paired with a graduate mentor, attend a once-weekly online synchronous research methods course and a mandatory once-weekly research meeting with all undergraduate students and graduate mentors in the program.
If you’re in a CS program, are past your 2A term and are on a study term in Fall 2026, enrol in this program by selecting CS 399!
