WiCS Events:
WiCS Orientation – Call for Volunteers!
WiCS is running an orientation event for first-year women and gender-diverse students in CS, SE, CFM, BCS/BBA. This is one of the most important events that we run all year, to welcome incoming students to the WiCS community. The event will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2:30-6:30. We are seeking volunteers to give lightning talks, serve as panellists, and help with setup and teardown. If you are interested in helping welcome the newest group of WiCS students, please sign up via the link below.

CAN-CWiC: WiCS Sponsorship 2026
CS-CAN is once again holding the annual Celebration of Women in Computing Conference (CAN-CWIC)! This year’s conference will be held at the University of Waterloo. WiCS provides free registration for a select number of students each year, covering the cost of a ticket and meals. Sponsorship applications open on August 3rd and close September 13th!

WiCS x Google Resume Critique and Breakfast
Will you be submitting applications for co-op or full-time opportunities this Winter? Looking for feedback on how to improve your application and resume? Look no further! Come to the WiCS Resume Critique event, where recruiters and mentors from Google will provide valuable advice and tips on how to structure your resume when applying for tech positions. Be sure to bring a copy of your resume that you can share with a Google mentor for 1-on-1 feedback.

Come join WiCS and Google to learn essential interview communication skills, problem-solving frameworks and strategic preparation techniques to ace your next technical interview!

As the term is ending, we are now coordinating fob returns! If you signed out a fob this term, please drop it off at DC 2509 (between 8 AM and 4 PM on weekdays) before the end of the term! =
If no one is in the office at that time, or you are unable to make it within those hours, please use the tape and paper pinned near the office door to indicate who you are and slide the fob under the door. Feel free to email wicscoop@uwaterloo.ca if you have any questions!
Please note: All fobs are automatically deactivated on August 21st. If you are unable to return the fob before the end of the term, please email wicsoutreach@uwaterloo.ca to coordinate a time to return it early next term.
