Are you a girl who is ready to change the world? 

Be part of the change! Technovation Girls is a free, 12-week program that equips girls and gender diverse youth ages 8-18 with the skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. With the support of volunteer mentors, students work in teams to code mobile apps or AI solutions that address real-world problems they've identified.

Waterloo Chapter overview

Women in Computer Science (WiCS) Outreach oversees the Waterloo Chapter of Technovation Girls, which supports teams in the beginner (8-12), junior (ages 13-15), and senior (ages 16-18) divisions. The chapter includes students from Cambridge, Elmira, Guelph, Kitchener, London, Stratford, Waterloo, and their surrounding townships.

Technovation Girls was such a meaningful experience. It helped us turn our idea for Serenaid into something real, while also showing us the importance of teamwork, research, resilience, and innovation.

November 29th: Technovation Mini-Hackathon!

Join us for Waterloo Chapter Technovation Mini-Hackathon! This mini-hackathon is open to girls and gender-diverse individuals aged 11 – 18 interested in tech entrepreneurship. During this day-long event participants will form teams, identify a problem related to the UN SDGs, design a tech-based solution, and pitch their idea to a panel of judges.
