Hello everybody to Week 3 of our weekly updates!
👉Thank you to those who came to our Kick-off event! It was great to welcome so many of you, brainstorm, and share pizza! If you couldn’t make it this time, we are already planning our next workshop on February 10th (see below). You can also find our presentations from the Kick-off online on our Technovation Girls website. We are working on building this website where we will include links to our presentations, important dates, and our weekly newsletters.

- Today is the 12 weeks to submission deadline!
☝️ If you haven’t done so, we highly encourage you to start with the Technovation curriculum!
- If you didn’t form a team this Saturday, please don’t worry! There is lots of time to form teams (if you remember from my presentation, March 13th is the official registration deadline!) We are currently collecting information so that we can pair students based on their ideas.
☝️Please fill out our Google form. Indicate your team, name your team members, if you are looking for further members, or if you are looking for a team. And tell us about your ideas!
📍In-person Working Sessions - February 10th, 2024
Time: 10:00am - 4:00 pm
Location: University of Waterloo
The session will include guided Brainstorming, Market Research, as well as Coding (App & AI). Our Student Ambassadors will be working with you on how to register Teams, developing a Team Contract, and finding mentors.
☝️ Come prepared!
- We highly recommend that you complete the Technovation curriculum modules Coding 1- 4 before the workshop!
- Please be sure to bring a laptop, iPad, and/or smart phone that can access the internet and Thunkable/ MIT App Inventor (or whichever app builder you are using for your project).
- It is very important that you create your MIT AppInventor account.
- Be sure to have a Google account and your password ready.
- Come with an initial project idea.
The session is also an opportunity to meet with your team in person to work on your project. We will always have a quiet corner available for those teams that are ready to go. There will be Coaches and Ad-Hoc Mentors there to answer your questions and provide support.
