Core and non-core programs

The Ministry of College and Universities (MCU) defines new programs as either 'Core Arts and Science' Programs or 'Non-Core' Programs.  Core programs may be exempt from the MCU approval process. Please contact Carrie MacKinnon from Institutional Analysis and Planning for more information.

Programs that are in basic disciplines which might be expected to be offered at any university (and are) appropriate to the academic ethos and character of any university.
