It’s fitting that in our home football and rugby will always be part of our lives since that’s how my husband and I met. Respectively we both played varsity athletics at UWaterloo and we continue to coach at Bluevale Collegiate Institute in Waterloo where we teach.
This year’ Reunion on September 27th will be an extra special one for us since we have had an addition to our family, Griffin Wolf, who has already been exposed to more football and rugby games than most kids. At 9 months, he already loves playing with his life-like football. I’m sure his future in athletics will be slightly biased towards our rough and tumble passions.
My husband, Chris Wolf (‘98- ‘01), played linebacker on the Yates Cup Championship team of 1999. He may have been known as the team’s “Jekyll and Hyde”. His kind-hearted demeanor disappeared on the field as he became a strong, scary, willing-to-go-through-teammates to make a tackle kind of player. Myself, Beth Booker (‘01-‘06), played a variety of back position on the rugby field, finishing as fly-half the last few years. We were always a force in the OUA and CIS with variety of gold, silver and bronze place finishes.
