Richard Robinson, BSc '93

Alumni Council member, at large

Richard Robinson (BSc '93, Kinesiology) is from Victoria, BC and entered the University of Waterloo with the goal of becoming a sports chiropractor. While a kinesiology student, he worked in the varsity therapy room where he began to realize he wanted to use his skill in the area of amateur sport.

Richard has had a lot of community involvement through sport and he has had the good fortune of being part of Team Canada's medical team at the 2006, 2008 and 2010 Olympic Games. He continues to work with a number of national teams as a member of their medical support teams.

Richard practices and is Clinic Director at Calgary Sports Therapy, as well as Director of Chiropractic Services for LifeMark Health, a leading provider of integrated healthcare solutions with over 100 clinics in Canada.

While at Waterloo, Richard gained extracurricular experience as a residence advisor (don), in the student kinesiology association and with Orientation.

Richard enjoys a very active lifestyle with his wife Tamara, boys Bodie and Wyatt and daughter Sloane.

I was honoured to have been asked to participate and I have been excited to be a part of the Alumni Council and see how Waterloo has advanced since I left; I am so impressed with where the school is going. My goal of being on the Alumni Council is to help bring alumni together and increase University of Waterloo's presence in the Calgary area.
