UN SDGs

Study findings show 13 per cent of students from the Faculty of Environment's co-op terms work is directly related to the UN SDGs. The study's findings suggest more could be done to increase awareness for the SDGs and better assessment is required.

Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE) facilitates research to improve global access to sustainable and affordable energy with the help of engineering co-op students. Aysha Cotterhill, a Systems Design engineer's project focused on clean energy in Indigenous communities.

Architecture student Simone Delaney's work term in Indonesia earned her a United Nations Public Service Award for advancing the work of the UN SDGs. Working for Yayasan Peta Bencana, an organization dedicated to helping manage climate disasters, she was able to help them foser equitable and collaborative resistance to climate change in Indonesia.
