UN SDGs

Shabnam Surjitsingh Ivković and Norah McRae report on the impact on students and employers from participating in the SDGs at Work activity and engaging with the Sustainability Impact Framework. Data was collected from end of term evaluations completed by Waterloo co-op employers and Waterloo co-op students.

SDGs at Work is a new term-based activity launched by CEE, which aims to promote student discussion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students can then bring this learning into their workplace though work-integrated learning (WIL).

SDG Week Canada promotes interdisciplinary engagement with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over 70 events were held across 50 campuses in Canada to advance the 17 SDGs.

Organizations across industries are advancing their sustainability efforts and those advancements require skilled staff. According to a LinkedIn report, demand for talent with green skills grew by 12.3 per cent between 2022 and 2023.
