Design Training

Module 2: Design Training

This module focuses on developing innovative new biomedical devices, materials, and technologies through a needs-first research philosophy to meet the "real needs" of patients, clinicians, and industry stakeholders while working on important scientific and engineering challenges. With this module, trainees will learn how to identify real-world needs, build effective interdisciplinary research teams, and to develop effective concepts and/or solutions through the co-design process that address a well-defined healthcare problem.

Graduate student trainees must complete a minimum of 21 hours of training in the design training module.
