We are excited to announce an upcoming lecture, "Transforming Public Health Communication: Evaluating the Impact of Generative AI Chatbots." This lecture will be delivered by University of Waterloo Adjunct Professor and VP of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, Dr. Steven Rebellato.

This online Zoom session will explore how Generative AI chatbots, like the one developed for the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit in collaboration with the University of Waterloo, are revolutionizing public health by improving accessibility, efficiency, and service delivery.

About the Speaker

Steven Rebellato

Steven Rebellato is the Vice President for the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. He has his PhD in Public Health from the University of Waterloo.

Steven is a part-time Assistant Professor at McMaster University in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, & Impact and Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo. Steven is a Research Fellow at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health in the AMS-Fitzgerald Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence and Human-Centered Leadership. He is the Vice-Chair for the York Hills Centre for Children, Youth and Families in the Region of York.

To recognize his impact on public health and the next generation of public health leaders, Steven Rebellato received the 2024 Faculty of Health Alumni Achievement Award.
