The Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology (CBB) would like to highlight the other on-campus events that are happening during National Biotechnology Week which runs September 20-27.

Talk and special guest speaker: Dr. Andrew Fung, Sr. Biomedical Engineer at Aterica Health Inc. Event organized by: Engineers in Medicine (EiM)

"Collaborations in Medicine"

University of Waterloo graduate Dr. Andrew Fung, current scientific advisor for Aterica Health Inc.  and recipient of a Grand Challenges Explorations grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for his work on developing a chewable rapid malaria diagnostics device, will be giving a talk on his past work with a focus on how collaborations with other members of the medical industry and healthcare field aided in development.

Moreover, Pam Waechter from the Centre for Career Action at the University of Waterloo will be giving a short talk about the path that engineering students can pursue for a career in medicine. The event will conclude with a networking session to allow for attendees to meet with our speakers and each other.
