Engineers in Medicine Event:
The event series is tailored to engineering students who have a distinct interest in medicine and its related fields and invites several distinguished engineers who have followed their passion in medicine to various places (biomedical engineering professors, practicing physicians, entrepreneurs, etc.). Our guests will speak about their background, interests, inspirations, path to their current position, and current work. These events will give attendees a personable experience to learn where they can follow their interests instead of the classic, cut and dry model that may restrict where students believe they can go. Events in this series will conclude with a networking session.
The inaugural “Where Do You Go From Here?” event (5:45—7:00 pm March 4, 2014; DC 1301 [Fishbowl]) will invite Dr. David S. McLeod, BASc, MD, PEng, CCFP, currently a practicing physician and assistant clinical professor at McMaster University, to take us through his journey. Food and refreshments will be provided.
