Chekema Prince wins the OCE Martin Walmsley Award for Entrepreneurship

Chekema (Keyma) Prince, Ph.D., a graduate of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering and current PostDoc/Program Manager with the Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology (CBB) won the prestigious Martin Walmsley Award for Entrepreneurship from the Ontario Centre of Excellence last evening at their Annual General Meeting. 

Presented by the Minister of Research and Innovation, the $25,000 prize is awarded to an Ontario student and new entrepreneur to help make their innovative start-up into a viable business that has an economic impact in Ontario.

Chekema is the Chief Scientific Officer of Pression Inc., a company spun out of the "Second Heart" research project supported by Lockheed Martin and managed by CBB.  Their new technology is targeted towards the prevention and treatment of blood clots and aims to reduce healthcare costs.
