Thursday, March 15, 2018

CBB Member Susan Horton, School of Public Health and Health Systems, is part of an international team examining medical testing in resource-limited countries.

Affordable access to medical diagnosis in low and middle income countries is a research area of Horton's, which has been published in The Lancet. This paper is one in a series of three international research articles examing this issue, with Horton as the lead author on the paper for overall financing and planning

"Our key message is that strengthening health systems as part of the Sustainable Development Goals can't be done without access to quality diagnostics" says Horton. "We have eight recommendations, and establishing a global alliance for diagnostics will be important to achieving all the other recommendations."
