CDL is a seed-stage program for massively scalable, science- and technology-driven startups. The program takes no equity and charges no fees - it is funded through philanthropy. At the core of the program is a series of five intensive, full-day summit meetings where founders meet with a curated group of super-angels, successful tech entrepreneurs, and star scientists to set short-term objectives and raise capital.
CDL's sweet spot is working with founders at the seed-, or series A-stage and helping them to raise capital and set smart milestones over a 9-month period. Our seventh annual cohort runs from September 2018 to June 2019. The deadline to apply is August 12. Over the past six years we have curated a group of mentors who provide made-to-order guidance to the founders admitted to the program as they build science- and technology-driven businesses.
CDL is complementary to incubators and accelerators but provides a type of support unavailable outside of Silicon Valley. It is a low-cost, low-risk program with high potential upside for participants. CDL admits companies in 7 specialized streams (AI, Health, Space, Cities, Quantum, Blockchain, and Energy) and one general tech stream called Prime.
