  3. Select the type of appointment module you would like to book:

    1. Same-day, virtual drop-ins (for ALL students)

    2. Same-day, virtual co-op consults (for students in their first recruiting term)

    3. Further education

Note: Some individuals may have more than one active WaterlooWorks (WW) account. For example, if you are an alum and an active student you will have two accounts. If you are an active student, use your student account (student ID) to log in to WW to book student appointments. To book alumni appointments, use your alumni account (student id - ALUM).

Cancelling an appointment

You can cancel your appointment up to 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Cancel through any of the following methods:

Attending an appointment

After booking your appointment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with more information on how to connect with your career advisor. Bring any digital or hard copies of documents you'd like reviewed as well as other relevant materials (i.e., job descriptions, résumé and cover letter support, etc.).

If your appointment is virtual, the appointment will appear in the Today's Webcam Appointments and/or Interviews widget of your Dashboard when you log into WaterlooWorks. When you click View you will see your upcoming Webcam interactions.

Ten minutes prior to your appointment time, the relevant Join button will become active and you may click it to begin the appointment (note: you may need to wait for your advisor if you are early)

For the best experience, use Chrome, Firefox or Safari browsers on a laptop or PC. Disable any ad blockers or add-ins.

Further education

To book a further education appointment, fill out the request for further education support form. The form will ask you questions about what kind of support you need, which program(s) you’re thinking about, as well as your booking availability and preferences.

Note: Keep in mind that demand is very high. Try to book your request at least two weeks in advance. Although we'll do our best to meet your needs based on the information you provide, filling out this form doesn't guarantee you a one-on-one booking.

Alumni and employee appointments

Alumni: Your first three hours of appointment time is free. Additional appointments will cost $40/hour. Learn more about CCD support for alumni.

Employees: As a UWaterloo staff member, faculty member or Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) employee in a regular appointment or temporary assignment of one year or more, you can book an unlimited number of appointments.
