The following message is from David John, Retired professor, University of Waterloo:
Hello all,
I retired a few years ago and doubt that I will do any further Germanistik research from now on.
During my career I acquired several large sets of primary and secondary works in German and English which I shall no longer need when lying on a beach in Malta and elsewhere. These are listed below.
I would be pleased if you would like to have them for your future teaching and research, or for your departmental or university library. I would get them to you if you could collect them from my home (or somewhere in between); otherwise you would have to cover the costs of my sending them to you by parcel post.
These are the books:
De Boor / Newald. Geschichte der deutschen Literatur. Vols. I-???. München: Beck, 1957. Hardcover.
Bertolt Brecht. Gesammelte Werke in acht Bänden. Frankfurt am Main: Suhrkamp. Darmstadt: Moderner Buch-Club. 1967. Hardcover.
Goethe-Handbuch. Herausgegeben von Bernd Witte et al. Hardcover. ? Bände, each averaging 1200 pp.+. Stuttgart/Weimar, 1998.
Goethes Werke, hrsg. im Auftrag der Groβherzogin Sophie von Sachsen. Weimarer Ausgabe, DTV. Sorftcover. Nachdruck der ersten Ausgabe (Sophienausgabe). München & Weimar: DTV, 1987. 143 Bände.
Meyers Groβes Taschenlexikon. B.I.-Taschenbuchverlag. 24 Bde. Mannheim/Wien/Zürich, 1990. Softcover.
If you are interested in any of these, please reach out to wcgs for contact details.
