In co-operation with the German Pedagogical Exchange Office (PAD), the Canadian Association of University Teachers of German is accepting applications for positions as English-language assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany. The assistants spend 9 months at a school (starting in September) in Germany, working 12 hours per week as resource persons under the direction of teachers of English. They are expected to help with conversation and oral practice of English and should also be able to provide information about everyday life and culture in Canada.
Eligibility
- Students majoring in German or any other subject who will have completed a first degree (BA) upon assuming the position.
- Must be native speakers of English and long-time residents of Canada.
- Must have completed 2 years of university German or completed A2 level.
- Should be less than 30 years of age.
There is a minimum cost-of-living stipend of 850, - Euro per month, which includes insurance and is tax-exempt.
