The Stork Awards in German Studies are made possible by a generous donation from Fred & Ruth Stork. The awards are given out annually based on students’ participation in a recognized institutional Canadian-organized German language or cultural studies program abroad.
Three Types of Stork Awards
1. Stork Awards in German Studies | UW Students
These awards are valued from $500 up to $1,500 per student and are awarded annually to full-time undergraduate or graduate students registered within the first four years of their program at the University of Waterloo and taking at least one Germanic and Slavic Studies course.
2. Stork Awards in German Studies | Students from Canadian Universities
These awards are valued from $500 up to $1,500 per student and are awarded annually to full-time undergraduate or graduate students registered within the first four years of their program at a Canadian university (other than the University of Waterloo).
3. Stork Awards in German Studies | IcGS Students
These awards are valued at up to $2000 per student and are awarded annually to full-time graduate students enrolled in the Joint Intercultural German Studies degree program on the Canadian side.
