Dr. Francesco Biondi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and the Director of the Human Systems Lab at the University of Windsor. He received his Doctorate in Applied Cognition and Human Factors in 2015. Since then he worked as HMI Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover and Research Scientist at the University of Utah. In 2018 he joined the University of Windsor where he examines human-machine interaction in transportation, manufacturing and the military. He leverages his background in cognitive science to understand how attention functions when allocated to multiple activities during the completion of complex tasks. He conducts ergonomic assessments of user interfaces, and contributes to the development of adaptive, user-centered systems. He also serves as an expert witness in cases involving distracted driving and driver interaction with vehicle technology.
