Dr. Scott Brandon is an associate professor and professional engineer in the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph. Scott received his BESc (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Western Ontario, followed by his MASc and PhD (Mechanical Engineering) from Queen’s University where he specialized in knee biomechanics, osteoarthritis, and bracing.
His research focuses on reducing the socioeconomic burden of musculoskeletal injury and disease by improving our ability to detect and treat human movement disorders. Combining biomechanical experiments with computational models, his research seeks to improve the efficacy of braces and other strategies for mitigating and preventing musculoskeletal injury. He has collaborated with industrial partners and clinicians, and his work is funded by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
