Dr. Tammy Eger is an associate professor at Laurentian University in the School of Human Kinetics. Her research interests focus around the application of ergonomic and human factors principles in industry.
Her current research work involves the assessment of whole body vibration exposure, line of sight, posture and musculoskeletal injury risk during the operation of large industrial equipment. She obtained her master's and doctorate degree in occupational biomechanics from Queen's University.
She is an author of over 20 journal papers, 60 conference abstracts and several invited presentations. She has also received more than two million dollars in research funding as a principal and co-investigator and she is the co-founder of the Centre for Research in Occupational Health and Safety (CROSH) at Laurentian University. Prior to joining Laurentian University fulltime, Tammy worked as an ergonomist with the Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association for three years, now a part of Workplace Safety North, which enabled her to visit numerous mine sites throughout Ontario.
Tammy continues to consult with mining companies and equipment manufacturers throughout Ontario, the United States, Finland and Australia.
