Katya Scheinberg

Katya Scheinberg is a professor at the School of ORIE at Cornell University. In July 2024 she will be joining the School of ISyE at Georgia Tech. Before Cornell she was a professor at ISE Department at Lehigh University and a research staff member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. She received her PhD degree from Columbia University.


Katya’s main research interest is developing theoretical analysis of practical algorithms in continuous optimization. She is an Informs Fellow, a recipient of the Lagrange Prize, the Farkas Prize and the Outstanding Simulation Publication award. Katya's service include editor-in-chief of MOR, co-editor of Mathematical Programming and Chair of SIAG/OPT.
