Abstract: A vertex partition of a graph into cells is called equitable
if the bipartite subgraph induced by each pair of cells is semi-regular. This leads to a natural notion of graph quotients. We describe how this machinery from algebraic graph theory is useful in studying questions about walks on graphs performed by quantum particles.
