Title: Plane partitions and some sweet generating functions
Speaker: | Pavel Shuldiner |

Abstract:
A
plane
partition
is
a
two
dimensional
generalization
of
a
partition
of
an
integer:
it
is
an
infinite
array
of
nonnegative
integers
which
decreases
along
rows
and
columns.
Their
enumeration
has
connections
in
the
realms
of
statistical
mechanics,
combinatorics
and
representation
theory.
I
will
use
some
of
the
fundamental
tools
of
the
landscape
of
plane
partitions,
such
as
Gessel-Viennot,
in
order
to
derive
some
sweet
generating
functions.
The
presentation
will
be
based
on
the
following
manuscripts
http://arxiv.org/pdf/1508.01674.pdf
