Abstract:
In
a
recent
paper,
Geelen,
Gerards,
and
Whittle
conjectured
that
linearly-dense
minor-closed
classes
of
matroids
have
rational
limiting
density
and
are
"eventually
periodic."
We
sketch
a
proof
of
Kapadia
for
minor-closed
classes
which
are
are
representable
over
a
finite
field
and
have
bounded
branch-width.
We
will
then
discuss
how
to
generalize
the
result
to
minor-closed
classes
with
bounded
branch
width.
