Abstract:

In 1977 Paul Seymour conjectured that there are exactly three minimally non-ideal binary clutters. This conjecture would characterize when the Max Flow Min Cut theorem can be extended to binary matroids. We will show how to leverage tools from matroids theory to make significant and unexpected progress on this problem.
