Abstract:
We
discuss
recent
advancements
and
applications
of
the
potential
technique
developed
by
Kostochka
and
Yancey
for
lower
bounding
the
edge
density
of
k-critical
graphs.
In
particular,
we
will
discuss
3-coloring
graphs
of
girth
five
and
homomorphisms
to
C_5.
