Title: Folding Operation on 3-by-2n Standard Young Tableaux

Abstract:
The folding operation is a bijection between standard Young tableaux (SYT) of the same shape. In particular, for a fixed n, it establishes a bijection between all the 2-by-n SYT's. Each 2-by-n SYT corresponds uniquely to an arc diagram via some construction. It is a known result that the arc diagram of the folding of a 2-by-n rotationally symmetric SYT, can also be obtained by *literally folding* the arc diagram of the original tableau.
In this talk, I will speak about a discovery in my summer project: a conjectured analogous correspondence between the diagrams before and after folding for 3-by-n SYT's, which is in the process to be proven.
