Farbod Yadegarian is the first recipient of the William Tutte Centenary Undergraduate Scholarship.
Farbod is a third-year student, majoring in Combinatorics & Optimization and Computer Science. "I grew up inspired by Tutte's greatest successes and strived to follow his footsteps, and after all these years he still has a great impact on my life", said Farbod. "It's amazing to see that the donors of my scholarship guide young students in this journey and reduce their burdens in his honour. I hope to make Tutte and them proud!"
The William Tutte Centenerary scholarship, valued at up to $1,500, is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four majoring in any program in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization in the Faculty of Mathematics who achieves the highest cumulative average (minimum 80%). This fund is made possible by donations from those inspired by William Tutte’s work.
