Bob Bixby awarded an honorary DMath degree

Bob E. Bixby received an honorary Doctor of Mathematics (DMath). He is well known for his early work on matroid connectivity and representability, and his later work on linear optimization. His CPLEX software for linear optimization and mixed integer programming is widely used around the world. Bob is research professor of Management in the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University, and a Noah Harding professor emeritus of Computational and Applied Mathematics at Rice University. He is also a founder and the president of Gurobi Optimization.
