Professors Bertrand Guenin, Jochen Könemann and Levent Tunçel are pleased to announce the publication of their book A Gentle Introduction to Optimization.
The book, published by Cambridge University Press, offers a self-contained introduction to linear programming, duality theory, integer programming and non-linear optimization, and is suitable for first- and second-year undergraduate students. Earlier versions of the book have served as the textbook for Introduction to Optimization (CO 250), a second-year undergraduate course that is offered each year to about 700 students in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
