Hangmeng (Harmony) Zhan is a recipient of the Cotton Family Women in Mathematics Graduate Scholarship for 2014. This scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, female graduate student based on academic excellence in her studies and/or research. This award is made possible by a donation from Cathy Cotton (nee Albers) (BMath '71, MMath '74) and Paul Cotton (BMath '71, MMath '74) to assist female scholars in their pursuit of advanced degrees in mathematics.
Harmony is a PhD student in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization, and is being supervised by Chris Godsil. In April 2014, Harmony completed her master's thesis on Uniform Mixing on Caley Graphs over Z3d.
