Zachary Friggstad Awarded Tier 2 CRC

Zachary Friggstad has been awarded a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Combinatorial Optimization.

Zachary is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Alberta in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the C&O department working under the supervision of Professors Jochen Kornemann and Chaitanya Swamy.

Zachary's main research area is the design and analysis of approximation algorithms for NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems.
