Research in the Waterloo Algebraic Intelligence and Computation Lab (WAICL), founded by WICI Core Member Chrystopher Nehaniv, develops new tools and methods for STEM areas, including Neuroscience, Biochemical and Biological Networks. WICI related projects successfully funded under this theme include "Novel Computation Methods for Predicting Tansitions in Spatiotemporal Neurodynamics between Attention and Mind-Wandering" (US Air Force Office of Scientific Research) and "Automatic Computational Understanding and Manipulation of Finite Discrete-Event Dynamical Systems throughout Natural Sciences and Engineering" (NSERC Discovery Grant). Research contributes to computational algebraic and methods for Neuroscience algorithm development and data analysis.
