WICI affiliate researcher Madhur Anand‘s debut poetry collection, A New Index for Predicting Catastrophes, examines the intersection between art and science, mixing “the beauty of her perceived world” with “the scintillant language of scientific evidence” in poems that “interrogate crises of personal and global concern.”
Publisher’s Weekly recently said the collection is ”in every measure a triumph,” as Anand’s poems “combines scientific, observational, socially conscious, haunting and reflexively personal, and almost Romantic strains into a cohesive, captivating whole.”
Anand was interviewed by the IFOA about the collection and the complex systems issues she explores in her poetry.
