Neil Craik

Neil Craik, PhD,  is an associate professor in the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED)at the University of Waterloo, where he teaches and researches in the fields of Canadian and international environmental law. Prior to his appointment at the University of Waterloo,  Craik was an associate professor at the University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Law (2004-2009) and prior to that, he practiced environmental and land use law with a major Canadian law firm.

His current research examines bi-lateral and tri-lateral environmental governance structures in North America, with a particular focus on the institutional aspects of governance. This work includes an ongoing collaboration with Isabel Studer and Debora VanNijnatten designing governance tools for integrating climate law and policy in North America. Professor Craik has particular interests in the intersection of international and domestic environmental policy, and in procedural aspects of transnational environmental law and governance.
