Robson trained as a specialist emergency physician and continues to practice as a primary care physician in diverse settings such as First Nations communities on Vancouver Island, a refuge clinic in Hamilton, and a university student wellness centre. Robson is assistant professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences of the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Health Sciences. He has worked for 20 years as a healthcare mediator in Canada and the U.S.
Robson is interested in trying to direct traffic at the tangled intersection of complexity science, conflict engagement, accountability, and patient safety. He has a particular interest in the development of qualitative methods for performance assessment in complex adaptive systems.
