Candace Haddy and Renzo Piano

Candace Haddy, a Master of Architecture student, travelled to Paris, France to pursue an internship at Renzo Piano Build Workshop. During her international experience, she was immersed in Parisian culture and the French language while expanding her education through the teachings and projects at the firm. She had the opportunity to work with world-renowned architect Renzo Piano and gained valuable insight into the process of completing large-scale projects. She plans to use this knowledge to advance her thesis as she studies the value of craftsmanship in architecture.

Candace shares her favourite part of the experience:

“The office is international, so I met many people from all around the world. I worked with two other interns, from Brazil and Germany. We had the opportunity to travel around France, England, and Italy to see Renzo Piano projects and other notable works of architecture!”

Candace offers advice to students considering an international experience:

“Your international experience will never turn out as expected, but most times you'll have such rich friendships and see so many new things, you'll never regret going! An international experience is the best way to learn and grow academically and personally!”
