Award description:
Awards, with a minimum value of $1,000, will be provided annually to select students who will be registered full-time in their first term of a research-based Master’s or Doctoral Program in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. The selection will be made by the Associate Chair and the Awards subcommittee of the Statistics and Actuarial Science Graduate Committee, normally in the spring term, based on a student’s application for admission to the program.

Eligibility & selection criteria:

  • Graduate students who are entering the first term in a research-based Master's or Doctoral program
  • Selection will be made based on the student’s academic excellence and/or demonstrated research ability or potential based on their application for admission to the program; a specific award application is not required.
  • The Associate Chair, Graduate Studies the Awards subcommittee of the Statistics and Actuarial Science Graduate Committee will select the recipients annually in the Spring term.
