Postdocs and PhD Candidates invited to join a conversation with Scott White, editor-in-chief of The Conversation Canada

Please join media relations on Thursday, May 25 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. when Scott White, editor-in-chief of The Conversation Canada, visits Waterloo.  The Conversation Canada is a unique publishing platform that combines academic knowledge with journalism expertise. It reaches millions of viewers across Canada and around the world. The University of Waterloo is a founding funding partner with The Conversation.

Scott will deliver a presentation on how academics and researchers can become authors for the publishing platform and the positive implications of contributing to it. Scott will also demonstrate the analytics dashboard that is built into an author's profile. Dr. Brian Doucet, associate professor and CRC from the School of Planning, will join Scott to discuss his experience writing for The Conversation and the impact of the several pieces he wrote. The session is limited to academics and researchers, including faculty, postdocs and PhD candidates.  The Conversation does not publish stories by undergraduate or master’s students.

This session will take place in the Enterprise Theatre in East Campus 5. We will also stream it on Teams, but we will not record it. Feel free to bring potential story ideas as this event is a great opportunity to get feedback. Please register by emailing Pamela in media relations at psmyth@uwaterloo.ca and share with colleagues you think would be interested.
