2024 Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute Annual Conference Call for Poster Presentations

The Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute at the University of Waterloo is hosting their Annual Conference on Thursday October 10, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM – providing a unique forum for students and researchers to network with faculty, government, and industry to present their research projects on cybersecurity and privacy. Student and researcher posters will be on display and there will be a dedicated meet and greet time for conference attendees to view the posters.

Posters may be in any format; you are welcome to present posters that you already have. If you are going to make a new poster, we encourage you to add a demonstration component to your poster. Resources such as a poster stand/table/power plugin etc. can all be provided if requested.

There will be no cost to register for the CPI Annual Conference.

There will be 1 prize of $1000 for the top poster.

Submission Process:

In order to submit a poster presentation for consideration, please submit an abstract (up to 200 words) to ccpi@uwaterloo.ca. Please include title, abstract, supervisor (if applicable), and your faculty affiliation. Remember to include what format your poster/presentation is in, and what materials you may need, poster stand, push pins, table, etc.

 The CPI Annual Conference poster session is intended to highlight posters that feature:

  • proposals for future research
  • overview of research processes
  • recent research results of projects related to cybersecurity and privacy

Important Dates:

  • Poster abstract submission deadline: October 6, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
  • Notification of decision to include poster: October 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
  • Poster presentation time slot is: Oct. 10, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Poster Format:

  • Please specify what material(s) your poster is made of, so we might establish what is needed to be able to accommodate your poster
  • Here are some guidelines that may be helpful for constructing your poster

Accepted poster presenters are required to register and attend the conference. Please bring your printed poster to the registration desk by noon, and you will be directed to your presentation area.
 

Posters must attend the poster presentation time slot and be available to answer questions about their poster. Presenters are welcome to attend the full day but this is not mandatory.
