Join us for an exciting GIS and GPS double feature! Specialists from the MAD Lab, Scott MacFarlane and James McCarthy will be leading the workshop. This is a great opportunity for students and faculty to learn all about geographic information systems and global positioning systems.
The workshop will include:
- An overview of GIS and GPS technologies and how they can be used to support feild work
- An outdoor GPS exercise (weather permitting)
- Excerise using ArcMap software, using and exploring data collected in the field
- A discussion of future steps for using GIS and GPS in your studies
