Congratulations to PhD student Elaheh (Ellie) Sanoubari. Sanoubari won a Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR 2024) in Odense, Denmark in October for her work "What Makes an Educational Robot Game Fun? Framework Analysis of Children's Design Ideas.”

University of Waterloo engineers have achieved that technological feat that will help diabetics to monitor their glucose levels and other people faced with other chronic health problems.

Electrical and computer engineering (ECE) alumni, Samira Ghanbarian and Arpan Mukhopadhyay, along with ECE professor, Dr. Ravi Mazumdar, and Dr. Fabrice Guillemin, project leader at Orange Labs, won a Best Paper Award at ACM MOBIHOC 2024 last week.

Congratulations are in order for electrical and computer engineering professor, Dr. Ladan Tahvildari.  Tahvildari was recently elected to the Board of Governors of the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE CS) for a three year term beginning 1 January 2025.

Electrical and computer engineering graduate student, Roshan Nepal, received the EuMC Student Grant from the European Microwave Association for his paper entitled "Joint RF Energy Harvesting and Nanoelectronics for Self-Powered Water Leak Detection."
