Dr. Raymond S. Ramshaw joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo on April 1, 1967, where he served as a professor until his retirement in 1996. He passed away on March 18, 2025.

His research focused on electromechanical energy conversion and power electronics, and he authored several textbooks in these fields.
