ECE alumna, Pirathayini Srikantha, has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Ontario Professional Engineers Awards (OPEA) Engineering Medal in the Young Engineer category by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE). Now an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at York University, Srikantha received both her BASc degree in systems design engineering (2009) and MASc degree in electrical and computer engineering (2013) from the University of Waterloo. She received her PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering (2017) from the University of Toronto.
The Engineering Medal is awarded to professional engineers who have improved quality of life through the ingenious application of their engineering skills. The 2022 Ontario Professional Engineers Awards (OPEA) ceremony will be held this year in November in Vaughan, Ontario.
