Electrical and computer engineering professor, Nachiket Kapre, intern, Niansong Zhang, and collaborator, Xiang Chen, win ACM TRETS Best Paper Award

Electrical and computer engineering Professor Nachiket Kapre, his MITACS research intern, Niansong Zhang, and collaborator, Professor Xiang Chen (Sun Yat-sen University), were awarded the ACM Transactions on Reconfigurable Technology and Systems (TRETS) 2023 Best Paper Award for their article “RapidLayout: Fast Hard Block Placement of FPGA-optimized Systolic Arrays using Evolutionary Algorithms” at the 2023 Design Automation Conference (DAC) in July. 

This award recognizes the best paper published in the premier Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) journal ACM Transactions on Reconfigurable Technology and Systems (TRETS).
