Electrical engineering undergraduate student awarded SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Aneesh Sridhar, undergraduate student in electrical engineering, has been awarded a prestigious 2020 Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, for his potential contributions to the field. Sridhar’s research, supervised by Simarjeet Saini, a professor in electrical and computer engineering, focuses on applications of near-infrared spectroscopy in the food and medical industry.

Sridhar is the co-founder of an eye-care start-up, designing a portable, cost-effective solution to better detect ocular conditions and diseases (glaucoma, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, etc.). In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing and flying.

Congratulations Aneesh!
